What is primary care?
Primary care is the day-to-day health care given by a primary care physician. Primary care consists of health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a variety of healthcare settings. Primary care medicine at Gonzaba Medical Group also includes preventative care, wellness care, and well-women care.
In order to provide cost-effective care by coordinating multiple healthcare services, primary care provides patient advocacy in the healthcare system. It creates effective communication between doctors and patients, and it encourages the patient to be a partner throughout their healthcare.
What is a primary care doctor?
A primary care physician is a healthcare provider who practices general medicine. They are the first contact for a person with any health questions or concerns, and they provide continuous care of any medical conditions. They play a vital role in managing the overall health of their patients. There are a few different kinds of primary care physicians: family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, and women’s healthcare. No matter if you are a child or a senior, you should be seeing a primary care doctor. Their job is to oversee individuals or families over an extended period of time to oversee anything that has impacted or affected their health.
Primary care physicians are the first stop for a patient’s healthcare. They are strong advocates for the patient in coordinating the use of the entire healthcare system to benefit the patient. Primary care doctors are usually easily accessible for their patients to reach them.
