Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioners
We are now hiring Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners for our growing Northwest Clinic located on 7616 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas 78251.
Summary of position: (Ask us about our sign on bonus!)
This position is primarily responsible for performing a variety of advanced clinical duties involved in assessing, treating, controlling, and preventing patient illness and disease within the assigned public health nursing program, performing physical examinations, identifying patients with physical and emotional illness, and administering medications as prescribed (if appropriate).

Gonzaba Medical Group has an excellent opportunity for a Board Certified/ Board Eligible Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician to join our growing medical group. A team of 15 physicians with three locations offers primary care and occupational services to the residents of San Antonio. Our ancillary services include advanced imaging such as mammography, bone density, MRI and CT. We have recently become accredited in MRI by the American College of Radiology. In addition we offer physical medicine and rehabilitation services and have contracted with an in house laboratory. Medical Assistant (Pool, All Locations)
Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting Physicians, LVN, RN and the clinical staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares patients for examination takes and notes height, weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration, and temperature.
- Notes reason for visit and patient history
- Assist clinical staff in completing examination and procedures as instructed.
- Administer medications and injections as instructed by clinical staff.
- Maintain exam rooms with proper supplies necessary diagnosis, treatment plans and authorizations.
- Maintain exam rooms with proper supplies
- Completes forms as needed for other services.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

PA/NP - Full Time & Pool (WL,NW)
Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for performing a variety of advanced clinical duties involved in assessing, treating, controlling, and preventing patient illness and disease within the assigned public health nursing program, performing physical examinations, identifying patients with physical and emotional illness, and administering medications as prescribed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Follows written protocol for all clinical practices.
- Mid level providers are to perform all patient- care related duties as per PA-C/NP training/license, inlcuding but not limited to evaluation and treatment of patients as outlined by their respective licensure board and also per their supervising physician(s).
- Performs general physical examinations including heart, neck, pulmonary, cardiovascular, abdominal, and other routine exams; performs pelvic and breast examinations; initiates and performs selected diagnostic tests.
- Identifies physical and emotional illnesses through observations, interpretations of laboratory findings, and analysis of patient charts; analysis of diagnostic tests and appropriate medical, hospital, or other health care as needed.
- Counsels patients under medical treatment programs in order to assess their health progress; identifies reoccurring problem areas; establishes written and verbal treatment plans to solve specific problem areas; evaluates compliance with the treatment program and modifies the treatment program based on the person or family response to treatment.
- Interviews patients prior to examinations to obtain a variety of information including medical history and background; determines the type of care or community service the patient will need; observes patients for signs of intoxication or possible use of illegal drugs; refers patients to proper community service agency if necessary; documents observations.
- Meets with patients in order to discuss and inform them of their laboratory test and exam results; educates patients regarding their illness; makes and provides appropriate referrals.
- Counsels patients regarding the prevention of STD’s and dispenses appropriate STD medications.
- Provides health related counseling on the prevention of communicable diseases; coordinates health programs with outside organizations and agencies; provides general health related information and instruction to individuals and their families.
- Follows up, by telephone with patients with infections and other illnesses; ensures that they return for follow-up testing or treatments as necessary.
- Maintains the operational activities and patient care for assigned clinic or health care program; (Participates in a variety of responsibilities including administering immunizations, performing pregnancy and tuberculosis tests, and diagnosing and treating clients for drug addiction, and other illnesses.)
- Administers and/or orders diagnostic tests, such as X-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratoy tests to include physical therapy.
- Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval.
- Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management, fracture immobilization-splinting.
- Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems and health maintenance.
- Provides physicians with assistance during complicated medical procedures.
- Keeps accurate patient records and maintains and updates files as necessary.

- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Works Urgent Care one weekend per month plus one weekday per week. Employee may opt to work additional evenings/weekends if desired.
- Is encouraged ro assist with ideas or suggestions on improving patient flow/customer service/ business.
Qualifications:
- Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the State of Texas, and have a valid CPR certification.

Physicians - Full Time & Pool (NW,Main)
Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, prescribing and administering medications, performing routine vaccinations, providing advice regarding personal health and hygiene, requesting necessary tests and follow-up visits and referring patients to specialists, as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas.
