Dr. Denise Tarver has been with Gonzaba Medical Group since 1993. She is currently on the clinical faculty at University of Texas Health Science Center – Department of Family Practice and the University of North Texas/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine – Department of Family Practice. Dr. Tarver chose to work at Gonzaba due to the precepts and values that Dr. Bill Gonzaba affirms and embraces: candor, emphasizing honesty and being forthright to all we serve; compassion, extending respectful empathy and kindness to every patient; competence, delivering valued health care for our patients with quality and expertise; commitment, serving the community of San Antonio with dedication and loyalty; and comprehensiveness, providing health care for the entire family emphasizing wellness and preventative care.

Dr. Tarver graduated from Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan and completed an internship at Lansing General Hospital in East Lansing, Michigan. Her memberships and affiliations include the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and C.A. Whittier Medical Society.

Dr. Tarver speaks English and Spanish.

During her free time, she enjoys reading and participating in a variety of sports and yoga.
