Dr. Cresencio Duran Jr. was born in Tulare, California, and raised in Earlimart, California, a small rural town where he enjoyed stargazing and fresh produce from nearby orchards. Dr. Duran decided to go into healthcare because he likes life-long learning and delivering healthcare to those most in need. He is passionate about helping people achieve a healthier version of themselves.
Dr. Duran has been a Family Physician since 2008 and joined Gonzaba Medical Group in 2024. He chose Gonzaba Medical Group because “I chose GMG to be part of an accomplished and growing medical group that is very involved in the community and revered by many.”
He graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Post-Baccalaureate in Molecular Biology. Dr. Duran attended the University of Medicine of New Jersey in Stratford, New Jersey, and graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at DUKE / Southern Regional AHEC Family Medicine Residency in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Prior to joining Gonzaba Medical Group, Dr. Duran served as a family physician in Texas and North Carolina. He strives in serving the elderly community and has experience working with geriatric patients. Previously Dr. Cresencio Duran worked at Gaston Family Health Services in Gastonia, North Carolina, South Alamo Medical Group in San Antonio TX, and focuses on senior primary healthcare.
He’s a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. When he is not working, Dr. Cresencio Duran likes to travel around the globe, play tennis, sing karaoke, and read books.
Dr. Cresencio Duran is fluent in both English and Spanish.
