Dr. Monroy-Alba was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She is a mother of three and is an avid reader in her spare time, sometimes reading up to 1,000 pages per day.

When she was a child her father became ill. Dr. Monroy-Alba acted as his interpreter so he could receive proper medical care. This exposure to the medical field made her fall in love with medicine and led to her career as a doctor.

Dr. Monroy-Alba chose to practice at Gonzaba because of their mission to treat each patient like family. She admires that the staff doesn’t just use this as an expression but actually models it witheach patient that walks through the clinic doors. She joined the GMG team in 2016.
