Conquering The Annual Enrollment Period with Gonzaba Medical Group
As we approach the Annual Enrollment Period, you may be asking yourself if your benefits have changed, if there are better ways to take advantage of your Medicare Plan, or you may have forgotten this essential part of the year altogether. If you’re in the latter group, October 15th through December 7th is something called the Annual Enrollment Period, when adults 65 and older (or * can review their Medicare benefits for the following year and make changes if needed. Gonzaba Medical Group wants you to receive the benefits you need, that’s why today we will be going over resources in the community, where to get educated, and how to stay safe from scams. Let’s get into it!
Information Overload; How to Spot the Essentials
Some of you may know this time of the year as a period when you receive a lot of mail, phone calls and messages. Some of this information is essential for you to read, while others are scams and fraudulent communication that you must be careful of. Gonzaba Medical Group can help you decipher the overload of communications and keep you out of harm’s way. If you have questions about the information you are receiving, call us at 210- 610-4495, and we will guide you through it.
To avoid scams over the phone, beware of texts or phone calls from people who are offering to make changes to your benefits for you. No one should be offering to make these changes on your behalf, you should be connecting with a registered broker, agency, or heading to a government approved website to make changes yourself. If you receive a phone call like this, do not answer any questions they ask you. Unfortunately, if you answer “yes” to any of their questions, they may be able to illegally change your benefits without your consent. This can negatively impact your benefits in place, change your primary care provider and interfere with your healthcare journey. To stay safe, Gonzaba recommends being cautious when answering unknown calls, and only sharing personal information with trusted and verified individuals.
When choosing a licensed healthcare broker or brokerage, Gonzaba recommends finding someone in your community who you can meet face to face to avoid the risk of scams.
What is a Broker and How Can They Help?
Connecting with a licensed healthcare broker, or brokerage (business that employs brokers), facilitates your Medicare enrollment process. A licensed healthcare broker is a state-certified professional who can help you find and enroll in a health insurance plan that is fitted to your individual needs. Brokers can answer your questions, explain coverage options, premiums, deductibles and provider networks, and more. To find a broker in your community, call Gonzaba today!
Yearly Benefit Changes
If you enrolled in a Medicare plan last year and were satisfied with your benefits, you might think that you don’t need to revisit that plan. In fact, there are changes to your insurance plan every single year and we don’t want you to be surprised come January 1st 2026. As a medical group, Gonzaba can connect you with the right people who will educate you on next year’s plans and answer any questions you may have along the way. Call us today and we can point you in the right direction to ensure you maintain access to the healthcare you need.
Changes in 2026
The Annual Enrollment Period is important every year, but this year it is especially important because recent government changes have affected healthcare policies. Due to this, companies are making significant changes in 2026. That is why Gonzaba Medical Group wants to make sure you are equipped with the necessary resources to make the best decisions for the coming year. To receive guidance on where to find educational resources, or where to connect with licensed brokers in the community, Gonzaba can point you in the right direction.
For general information overview, head to medicare.com for government approved educational resources and Medicare plan details. To ask questions directly, call the social security number for guidance on where to seek out resources.
You can also get connected with a licensed healthcare broker or brokerage who can answer your questions and ensure you get the necessary benefits for the coming year. Gonzaba is established in the community, and we have resources available to help you navigate this confusing but important time.
