On February 11, 2026, Gonzaba Medical Group ushered in a new era of care with a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the Southeast Medical Center. Located in Southeast San Antonio, the new facility reflects Gonzaba’s continued growth, commitment to expanding accessible care, and a tribute to the legacy that has defined the Gonzaba Difference.

The celebration brought together organizational leadership, construction partners, and community representatives to commemorate the milestone. Executive Director Paco Gonzaba, Medical Director Dr. Greg Gonzaba, and Vice President Dr. Tom Gonzaba reflected on Gonzaba’s mission and its deep-rooted connection to the community we serve.

Construction partners and civic leaders also shared remarks, including Principal of RVK Architecture, Jason Puchot; President of Malitz Construction, Ryan Malitz; Bexar County Commissioner, Tommy Calvert; and Luis Rodriguez of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Each emphasized the importance accessible healthcare plays in strengthening neighborhoods and recognized the trust Gonzaba Medical Group has built in the local community.

The ceremony concluded with heartfelt remarks from President & Founder Dr. William “Bill” Gonzaba, who discussed legacy and emphasized the importance of keeping patients at the forefront of our healthcare mission. A vibrant mariachi crescendo followed, celebrating the beginning of an exciting new chapter in care.

Previously located at 3520 S. New Braunfels Ave as the Southeast Clinic, the new 33,000-square-foot Southeast Medical Center — now situated at the corner of Southcross and Goliad — was thoughtfully designed with the community’s evolving needs in mind. The facility features:

Jason Puchot of RVK Architecture, the firm behind the design, shared: “Gonzaba’s mission has always been clear — to create a facility that isn’t just a place to receive care, but a place where patients feel valued, respected, and known.”

Several providers have transitioned from the former Southeast Clinic to the new location, including Dr. Carlos Garcia-Fajardo, Dr. Martha Guadamud, and NP Ruby Rodriguez. They are joined by Dr. Luis Bieler, Dr. Cresencio Duran, and Dr. Michelle Gonzaba, further expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care in the area.

For Dr. Bill Gonzaba, this milestone carries special meaning. Built in his childhood neighborhood, Sunny Slope, this new state-of-the-art medical center brings his mission full circle — serving the same community that inspired his life’s mission to heal. Reflecting on his family’s roots and the organization’s legacy, Paco Gonzaba shared, “This Southeast Medical Center is another chapter in our story, rooted in where we came from, yet focused on where we are going.”
